A Simpler Way to Include Mathematics in Web Pages
WebEQ is a java applet which allows web authors
to include mathematics in their pages.
WebEQ is easy to use. Equations are added to web pages by including
HTML style commands directly in the HTML source file. All you need is
an editor. WebEQ works as easily for authors using Windows and
Macintosh machines, as well as workstations, unlike complicated and
difficult to install packages like latex2html.
WebEQ features include:
- A rich, but simple, equation description language closely
patterned on the recently expired proposal for HTML 3.0 math.
- Math notation included directly in the .html source file, where it
is easy to find and edit, unlike a host of .gif files with cryptic
names.
- Ways to scale expressions, match background colors, and add
links.
Download WebEQ 0.982 (released
6/13/96) and experiment for
yourself!
